Residence Halls with Meal plans and sororities

My D is trying to decide which residence hall to apply for in a couple of weeks. Does anyone know for sure if you live in a hall with a mandatory food plan and you join a sorority with a food plan are you still obligated to pay for the meal plan with the residence hall?

The last I heard you are still required to but you may be able to get a discount on the meal plan. My daughters sorority also gives maybe a 200 dollar cut on dues if you are required to have a meal plan on campus.

Yes, you are still required to purchase a meal plan. I don’t know the specifics, but I think it’s a bit cheaper than the other meal plans. Although again, I don’t know the specifics, and knowing the FSU Dining people, they probably made it more expensive.
