<p>We live in FL (originally from NY) and my S who's a junior in high school is interested in attending SUNY Stony Brook. Someone told me that after his first year (12 months) at Stony Brook, he could designate NY as his residency and pay the in-state fee for his following years at Stony Brook. </p>
<p>Can someone please tell me if this is true? </p>
