Residency for tuition purposes

Hi guys hopefully someone can help me out here  anyways…I have been living outside of California for the past 5 years now with my family in South Africa.

However my parents have still been paying state taxes, have state drivers licences, and also we have a place of residency in the state.

Would I be eligible to re-establish residency for tuition purposes? (if not this year possibly for the following year)

Thanks in advance for the help :P

I forgot to mention that we are also all US citizens…won’t let me edit my OP for some reason :-/

Best thing to do would be to check the rules with the state. This information should be available on the internet, but if it’s not clear, I would call. It would seem to me that you shouldn’t have to re establish residency if your parents are paying taxes and have a residence,

Look to the residency guidelines.

There is a physical presence requirement that you do not currently meet.
