can someone tell me about the qualities/attributes of each college? I heard when I went on a tour of Rice that each college has its own "personality." The girl that was my tour guide took me to Hanszen and told the tour group that it was the "family college," but first, what did she mean by that? And also, what are the other colleges like?

i would think that they would all be somewhat similar since they have such a mixture of different students with different majors. I have heard that Will Rice is a bit more "prima donna" for lack of a better phrase-as in they know they're good haha. I'm kinda interested in lilypuppy's question too, I'm real excited to be getting my college letter July 7th!

About 3-4 years ago on this site there was an entry about the college personalities. You might want to try to search it out. I believe it was from jenskate.

Don't worry about what the different colleges' personalities are until you find out which one you're in. You're going to set yourself up for disappointment.

No, one of the O-week advisors on the facebook group said that the roommate assignments and O-week information would be later, since they moved the due date for the roommate information sheet back so far.

...but he could be completely wrong. We'll find out next week, won't we?

College assignments are being mailed on Monday, though Baker mailed theirs Thursday, so people in Baker are going to find out before everyone else. Roommate assignments will be mailed with the O-Week books on July 16.

Then how come when our group of parents toured Rice during Owl Days,
we were shown Hanszen --not Wiess! Wouldn't they want to show us the absolute best residential college, with our kids still weighing out their final school choices? Still, I'm sure the others are nice, too...

Is it true that Hanszen and Wiess share a servery -- what's the food like?
