Resnet and privacy

Do the people at BU keep a watchful eye on your dorm internet activities? Should I assume every page I look at someone from BU tech or w/e will know what I looked at?

How successful has people been with torrenting? I know BU’s policy on this but I also know my ISP’s policy and we get along fine.

[random ramblings that I have, Useful things BU won’t tell you and other tips](http://pankocrumbs.■■■■■■■■■■/post/8217737452/useful-things-bu-wont-tell-you-and-other-tips) Scroll down this page and there are some useful tips on this matter.

I know people who’ve gotten warning emails after torrenting. I’m usually running PeerGuardian, although I’ve heard a thousand times that it just gives you false security. Away from campus I’m the ultimate queen of pirates, but on campus I’m cautious about this stuff. Google the Tenenbaum case, the guy was a BU student.

Thanks for info Hanita. I was more worried about BU wagging their finger at me than getting caught like Tenenbaum did. It looks like I’m getting the green light here. And here I was worried and stocking up on shows :P

You need Resnet to use the library computers right? So there’s no way you can use the printer without Resnet?

Don’t even think about opting out of resnet… It’s not worth it one way or the other.

lmao I won’t.

Well I actually have it waivered right now but I’ll get to it. Is it an immediate thing? I ask them to unwaiver me, I pay, and then I get my internet and other services soon after?
