deferred.... hic hic
owell just hav to move on congrats to those who got in...

I'm suprised by the sudden volume of people who showed up on the board recently- maybe UGA's getting more popular? Or is it CC is spreading to more people? Last year it was nothing like this.

I'm in :).

3.7 UW GPA
1360/2140 SAT
60/365 Class Rank

I'm crossing my fingers for the Honors Program (didn't apply for FF). I really want to go to UNC though, find out in January (the 31st)!

Congrats to all who got it and good luck to those who were deferred -- keep ya chin up ;)

yes, i have to admit that i was kinda thinking i'd get in, but it's nice to actually be admitted to your top choice school. i just love uga THAT much. i might as well had been admitted to princeton.

IN!!!!

I probably have the lowest SAT score out of anyone who got in: 1280/1960

GPA: 3.8 Unweighted
3 APS (4 this year)
Dont know class rank..probly top 10-15%

Looks like GPA may be much more important than SAT's--since there's a broad range there. Anybody get in with under a 3.7?

omg! i got in. i don't know, as my SAT's are the lowest on this board.

oos. (maryland)
GPA: 4.0 W (my school's gpa, not sure how to make it UGA's gpa)
rank: 21/250, top 10%
SAT: (October) 1180/1790
6 aps and honors classes

cornell you have the lowest SAT so far. But a 4.0 makes up for it and your rigor of courseload is good.

cornell do u know what ur UW GPA is though?

i'm not sure. i just know my weighted GPA is 93.7 and according to my school that's a 4.0 GPA (i don't know why). but unweighted, my numeric avg is a 91. something but i'm not sure how to convert that to a 4.0 scale.

maybe they were able to see my november SAT scores which was a 1310/1920.

i bet they saw those november scores, just because OOS is harder than instate. but regardless, you are in soo who cares!. congrats :)

This is outrageous. I got deferred.
My stats:

OOS (Tennessee)
GPA: 4.3 Weighted for my high school
SAT: Verbal 690; Math 670; Writing 700. Verbal + Math = 1360
Rank: 69/415

What went wrong?

Are my chances for Regular decision good? I am stressing out.

Thanks.

that doesnt sound fair if you compare your scores etc. to wannagotocornells, because you are both OOS

titanz, that is very surprising. I wonder if maybe your counselor didnt give you a good rec? Perhaps your high school GPA is different from how Georgia recalculated it. Nevertheless I am sorry and I think you are a lock regular decision.

I got in!
SAT: 1260/1920
ACT: 29
GPA: 3.9
Rank: 9/275

One thing that really surprised me is that one of my friends got in with the following stats:

1100 SAT
22 ACT
3.8 GPA
Rank: 13/275

That is surprising, but not as surprising as my friend who got in last year with:

SAT: 1040
GPA: 3.8
he is a good writer and has good EC's.
BUT, he goes to a non-acceredited HS, that is basically a homeschool program. he goes 3 days a week and homeschools the other two.

obviously we cannot figure out the system.

From admissions perspective, the further OOS you are the better (more prestegious for colleges to attract people from different regions); so MD trumps TN. Also, High Schools are ranked--and a 4.0 in one place is not the same as a 4.0 elsewhere. SO if you go to an underperforming school, you lose. Not fair but true.

I think a lot of you are overestimating UGA.. it's a state school. People with 3.3/1200 get in all the time.

I got in with a 3.5UW/13 AP's/2200.

I got in, 1350 SAT, 3.5 GPA (but then again, I'm full IB and it's 4.63 weighted...)
