My interviewer said he wanted me to bring along a resumé. If i just printed out the activities and awards pages from my common application would that be fine? Or would it look unprofessional?
I’d suggest making a resume. Just printing out the awards and activities sections from the common app isn’t advisable
Generally, when I’m asked if they should have a resume, I tell them if they have a resume already created, bring it along. It helps us guide some questions and remember who you were when we’re writing our report up after the fact. But I don’t think they need to create one from scratch if they don’t have one already.
Now in your case, if the interviewer specifically asked you to bring a resume with you, I’d put a basic one together ahead of time. It’ll be useful for the rest of your life at least. Worst case, your interview is in 15 minutes and you haven’t started your resume, you could copy/paste the activities and awards into a new word doc and label it “Activities and Awards” instead of a resume to get by. Interviewers aren’t writing your report by rephrasing the resume the college already has as part of your application.
