<p>I'm writing my very first resume. I don't have any job experiences yet, but I have done some volunteer work. I was wondering... do I need to cite exactly what kind of volunteer work I did for the organizations on my resume, or will simply naming the organization on my resume suffice?</p>
<p>oh, and do I need to cite the dates I volunteered for these organizations as well? </p>

<p>well...if it goes under your 'experience' section ...you will need to cite the dates of course....</p>
<p>not exact dates, but something like</p>
<p>Summer 2007
January 2006-Present</p>
<p>something like that....</p>
<p>mention skills that you used or gained through the volunteer work. that should help with your experience part. don't cite what you did but rather what you learned and achieved.</p>
