@cornetking222: First time; will probably retake next fall.

@fairlights: I’m also looking at Pomona. Honestly, the Amherst statistics are probably relatively equivalent.

kameronsmith, I’d be very happy if the statistics for Pomona were similar to those of Amherst! And good luck with retaking if you choose to do so :)

Pomona’s SAT scores tend to be a bit better than those from Amherst. But I am not positive if Pomona actually publishes a chart itemizing its acceptance rates among SAT ranges.

Sorry to up the thread but I was just curious…
Does anyone know if the OP ended up retaking, and if he did, whether he got the 2400 he was hoping for?

I haven’t retaken yet, but still might.

^ Kind of ironic kameronsmith retaking it on the last possible test date (January)(I’m assuming you’re now a senior ). I think you shouldnt retake though lol, your score is already ridculously high.

I actually have another year of HS left, so have plenty of time to retake.

@kameronsmith: Despite the impression that my prior posts in this thread gave, retaking in your situation is so unlikely to be fruitful that I would not do it if I were in your place.

Why exactly do you say that? I mean, others have been able to make similar improvements in the past. I’ll probably only retake if I cab consistently get 2400 on practice tests.

^ I meant fruitful in regards to changing your college admissions decision from rejection/waitlist to acceptance. (Sorry for being unclear.)

You sure are in a predicament. I’d only retake if you CONSISTENTLY get 80 MC with at least a 10 on the essay. By consistently I mean at least 3-4 times in a row. If you can’t why waste your time and money for an extra 40 points? Yes, it would be nice to say to your family, friends, and whomever you may meet in life that you got a perfect SAT score. However your time could easily be better spent by getting perfect subject tests or doing some other extracurriculars that will mean more to college that an extra 40 points.
