Hi, all. I took the ACT and got a 34 composite with 34 in the Math section and 36 in the science section. I didn't prepare for the test, so I could take it again and get a higher score in the math section. Neglecting other factors in admission, is a 34 close enough in Math to the 35-36 25%-75% to be a relative non-factor or should I take the ACT again? I got an 800 in the Math II SAT subject test.

34 is one of those scores where it COULD be better to retake. It’s sort of like getting a 2250 on the SAT as opposed to 2300+, where it is good enough for top 25 schools but average for top 10 schools.

Have you taken the regular SAT? If you are Asian, you might want to up the 34 to 35-36 to be safe.

I was one of those 2250 on SAT asian guy, who barely got into Caltech. Got rejected everywhere else though, which was a bummer. Dont be like me :)
