Retake a 2260? & Other Questions...

I took the December SAT and scored a 2260. I was really hoping to score in the 2300s, so up until now I've been planning to retake it in June.

However, before I do sign up, I just wanted to know if it'd be worth the time and effort to retake it. I haven't looked at a practice test since December, and I'll need a lot of practice to get back to where I was...

Here is my breakdown:
CR: 720
Math: 760
Writing: 780

I'm concerned that my CR + Math score (1480) is a bit low, which leads me to my next question - is it really true that most colleges/Ivies disregard the writing section of the SAT?

Also, I've already taken two subject tests (World, 800 and Math II, 760) and will be taking one in Chemistry this coming May. If I'm considering applying to U.Penn and it's dual degree program (M+T), Cornell, Johns Hopkins, and Boston University, am I in good shape as of now?

Any help is kindly appreciated! :)

bump (: (:

don’t retake

as of now i think i’m going to be retaking it next october…

Your scores are fine for the colleges you’re planning on applying to.
Unless you plan on applying to HYP, raising your scores would just be a waste of time. Instead you should go for some EC’s.

I wouldn’t retake. As long as your SAT score is within the range of Ivies (i.e. 2200+), they generally won’t care if you scored a 2300 or a 2260 (after all, that’s only a 2 question difference). Instead, focus on your EC’s. Applicants to UPenn and similarly prestigious institutions will have similar resumes. Extracurriculars will make a HUGE difference!

Don’t waste your time. You are in the 25-75 percentiles for all of your schools. Make sure your subject test for chem is high. Go build houses in Haiti or rescue some orphans before you apply, because a 2260 and a 4.0 won’t make you stand out at an ivy league school.
