You will find that being done with collegeboard sophomore year is more valuable than the 30 points you’ll gain from taking it again.

But if you want, take two blue book tests, if you beat 2330 both times then I suppose go for it.

Nope. You’re done. Enjoy your ECs and write a smokin’ essay.

I honestly don’t think you need to. I got a Harvard likely letter with a 2300 SAT (first and only sitting).
Ivies are swamped with perfect SAT applicants anyway, so they are forced to pay more attention to other parts of the application. Having a great transcript/GPA, challenging classes, interesting EC’s and a superb, original essay is much more important. Also, it’s important that you’re passionate about what you present on your aplpication. This really will come through. I promise you.
Remember, admissions committees look at your application as a whole, they don’t just chop out anyone without a 2400 SAT. Being an original person, and just being yourself is the most important. I know it sounds cheesy and not very specific, but honestly, that is what helped me the most.

nope. you’re definitely going to get rejected all because you didn’t get a 2350+. colleges are going to look down upon you, so you better get your credit card out and sign up for the next SAT coming up quick.

Okay then, thank you so much everyone (besides andrewchen T-T… and since when were you from Maryland?) :D!
I really really didn’t want to retake it, but peer pressure almost influenced me to do so… So I’m glad that the general consensus is to not retake ^^.

well i took the sat test as sphomore and made 2380. writing mess me up and i am not going to retake it again.

You should try curing cancer instead, it might help bump up that awful score. If not, there’s always ITT Tech and University of Phoenix.

Johnlin by the way you wrote that comment, I am surprised you got a 2380. haha :D

DO NOT RETAKE. won’t improve your chances at all.

I’ll be ecstatic with a 2300. :(

I got a 2330, as well, and though I really don’t want to retake it, I might. I got Math 790, CR 740, and Writing 740.

If it were any other arrangement whatsoever of these scores, I’d be thrilled and move on. Actually, if I got any other arrangement of 2300+ I’d be extremely happy. However, I’ve always scored perfect/close to perfect on CR when taking diagnostics/practice tests, so I think I might want to retake because I know that I didn’t do my personal best here. Though there’s a definite possibility that I could go down in Writing or Math. But like I said, CR is usually my best, which is why I’m a bit upset.

So, no, I don’t think you should retake. Honestly, If my CR and Writing scores were reversed, I wouldn’t even be entertaining the idea of a retake. You did great! And honestly, as long as someone tried their best, their score should be considered great!

^ If your CR and writing scores were reversed, nothing would change.

790 + 740 + 740 = 2290

You made a typo somewhere :)

Oops! lol sorry, thanks for pointing that out! I meant Math 790, CR 740, Writing 800 (still 2330 total though)
