i will be a CS major. in college, ill have to take a differential equations and linear algebra course as a third semester calc course.

i have already taken two semesters of dual enrollment calc at my HS and it will likely transfer over to the college i go to. i feel that ive forgotten a lot of the things i learned in that class. is it worth retaking those classes in college?

How long ago and how well did you do?

DiffEqs is honestly more algebra than calculus, if you know how to integrate cos/sin and e you should be fine. It gets a little nasty when you get into fourier series and PDEs but its not that bad.

Here is what you do. You go on MIT courseware, watch all the lectures and take notes. If you can understand it, then go to Dif Eq.

It’s going to flood back to you and you’ll get bored in class. Flip over a Calculus book, maybe an AP prep one if you don’t have the money. Do a little independent practice and refreshing. Linear algebra isn’t exactly going to use calculus, but Multivar and Diffeqs might strain a little bit.

You don’t need calculus for linear algebra. Differential Equations uses a lot of calculus, but I think you could just review all the calculus rather than go back and take a whole class.
