I am a rising senior and I took the SAT once last year, scoring a 2260 (1480 CR+M). I was planning to retake it this coming October and take the ACT for the first time in September.

I took a practice ACT for the first time today and scored a 34 (English 34, Math 36, Reading 33, Science 33). Supposing I score a 35/36 on the actual ACT in September, would it really be necessary/beneficial for me to retake the SAT?

Nope! Those seem to stack up together! I got a 2150 and a 32 and the 32 was supposed to be in the 2200 range? I think the ACT is a little nicer ;)

I think it would be ok to take the SAT again. It would only be your second one. Most schools super score the SAT so if you inprove in any section, you increase your over all score.
