On my first SAT attempt I got a 2100 with not much studying, but my writing score was my highest (750), and my critical reading and math were 680 and 670 (1350 M+CR). So I’m wondering if in October I should retake the SAT or if I should take a subject test, probably math 2 since I will be applying as an engineer. I haven’t taken any subject tests. My goal is to maximize my potential for merit scholarships. My top 3 schools are Lehigh, Stevens, and Rowan. Which should I retake in October?
I suggest you take Math II, Physics, and/or Chemistry if you choose to take SAT subject tests.
If you want, you can take the SAT over again, but your score is high enough for Rowan.
Just make sure you have enough EC’s and your GPA is high enough for Lehigh and Stevens.
Hope this helps and good luck applying!
I believe your SAT score is good for most schools. I would try to demonstrate your other abilities by taking SAT IIs. Since you want to be an engineer, I would take a science SAT II (physics, chemistry, or bio) and a math SAT II (colleges don’t really care if you take math I or math II).
Best of luck!
