which test(s) should i retake?

i will be a senior this year so my options are limited. i kno i need to retake either the sat or sat subject tests, but i wont get a chance to do both. i only took the sat once, and i only too the subject tests once.

my sat was a 2080 (cr 680, m 680, w 690). for the subject tests, i had a 660 in chemistry and a 670 in math2.

i will be some type of engineering major, but i havent made up my mind yet. i will probably be applying to cmu, wvu, cornell, rpi, upenn, johns hopkins, cooper union, franklin w olin, case western. idk its still up in the air cuz the school year hasnt even started yet.

i was thinking of retaking the subject tests instead of the sat. these schools all take the act and my act score is better than my sat score (32 composite, 34eng, 32math, 34read, 27 sci). i was thinking if i could retake the subject tests it cud make up for my act science score, which i kno i will be retaking.

so what r your thoughts? sat? subject test? any advice is greatly appreciated!

How about retaking both the ACT and the SAT II’s? Not that a 32 is bad- it’s about average for most of those schools- but higher would definitely be better. If you don’t want to retake the ACT, you must at least retake those SAT II’s and aim for 750+. Good luck.

thanks! yeah im definitely retaking the act.

a 670 looks terrible for the Math II (no offense). Aim for a 750+.

lol none taken.

The SATII’s, chemistry in particular, are very easy to prepare for, and almost anyone can score a 750+ (this doesn’t hold true for lit though…)

I think your application would be a lot more competitive with strong SATIIs.
