Hi everyone,
I was wondering if I needed to retake the SAT or take the ACT. In January, I got a 2330 (800 M, 800 CR, 730 W). Normally, I wouldn’t ask this question, but in my high school the average SAT score is in the 2300’s and nobody gets less than a 2100. I have three classmates who have 2400 composites right now.
I have a 770 in the Chem SATII and am taking the Math later this year. My GPA is around a 4.1, but the class average is around a 4.2.
I have extracurriculars, leadership positions, and volunteer and work experience. My dream college is Stanford, but I’d be OK with U-Pitt or UVA.
Do you guys think I should retake the SAT or take the ACT? Thanks!
Don’t bother–waste of time and money. Focus on other parts of your app!
Don’t worry about other students’ scores.
No
I don’t believe it. There is no high school in America, public or private, that has average SAT scores in the 2300s, so I think it is safe to say that your score is more than good enough. Stanford, as I recall, requires you to report all scores, so it’s a risk-reward assessment that you are in the best position to assess.
