<p>I think you are all right. She could do better with a bit of work and it might make a difference, but it would come at a cost. Only she can figure out if it is "worth it." DH and I decided to suggest that she spend her time working on her courses this semester. She has a difficult batch of classes, plus her sports, ECs and apps. These should be her priority, not polishing an already bright apple.</p>
<p>I have to admit (but not to her) that I am (a little bit) disappointed and think it might reduce her chances at Swarthmore somewhat. But life is too short and this kid has worked--and is working--hard enough already. My suggestion to her will be to let it go and be very proud of what she has accomplished already. She is a really nice kid and doesn't need pressure from her overly-anxious parents!</p>
