Retake SATs?

<p>Hi, I’m an incoming freshman at my state university looking to transfer to Brown. It had been my top choice in high school, but I didn’t get around to filling the prerequisites (SAT II’s, recommendations) for submitting an application. Though this is a terrible mindset to be in, considering that I haven’t even started school yet, I was wondering if I should retake my SAT I’s and take SAT II’s in case I do wish to apply for transfer.</p>

<p>My scores are mediocre:</p>

<p>SAT I:</p>

<p>600/700/640
640/640/570 (went down the second time LOL)</p>

<p>SAT II: nonexistent</p>

<p>From the Brown website:

However, since the college you are endeavoring to transfer from may not have required such examinations as part of their admission requirement, we will not retroactively place this as a requirement on you as a Brown transfer applicant But please note that the SAT’s give us one tool (among others) of comparing applicants across a wide variety of secondary school preparation, and so we do encourage you to take one or the other, if you have not done so previously.

<p>So, if your state school didn’t want SATs in the first place, you will be in luck.</p>

<p>Otherwise, I’d retake them after some preparation. But why not give your state school a chance?</p>
