Retake to Improve Writing?

<p>I have a 33 ACT, but only a 7 on the writing. I'm looking at colleges like Yale, which requires the writing portion with the ACT.</p>

<p>Although my ACT is pretty strong, the writing portion is not. Does this matter very much in the admissions process, or should I not worry about retaking just to improve this score?</p>

<p>You shouldn’t retake for just the writing, but if you’re looking at Yale, then a 34 or 35 would help you immensely.</p>
