Retaking AP Biology Exam - Pros and Cons

All:

I got a score of 4 and I was expecting a 5. I was little upset. I am thinking of retaking the exam. It appears that most of the Universities will offer full 8 credit hours of transfer if you get a score of 5 in AP Biology Exam. They will offer 4 credit hours of transfer if you get a score of 4.

I have the following questions:

1) I am thinking of retaking the exam again to improve my score and I hope it is worth the effort. Since 2008 Exam was too Botany oriented.

2) If I retake it and if my score drops for some reaso, can I keep the current score?

Please comment

Uh, it'd be a waste of time.

Focus on other AP tests instead.

Since I will be studying for SAT II for Biology and I might as well take another crack at it. Never know. Also I am thinking of regrading it.

I wouldn't rescore. It's unlikely that a 4 is wrong - usually, if there is a problem, CB forgets to include the essays, making your score drop to a 2/3. Also, the rescore only goes towards the multiple choice, so I doubt there'll be enough mistakes on the sheet (unless you know you made extraneous marks) for it to change.

Also, retaking probably isn't the best idea. Although a 5 can get more college credit usually than a 4 with the Bio Exam in particular, unless you really keep on top of the material and stay fresh with it, you'll most likely score lower a second time around.

A 4 is a very good score for a freshman - be happy :-)

P.S. I like how you were a mom in one of the posts, although I guess that does tend to make more people view the thread/respond :-P
