Do you think it would be wise to retake the SAT I earned an 1800 with a 1240 two part. I think I'd do a lot better now as a freshman in college and second would UNC even accept the scores if they've been taken while I'm a college student?

Thanks!

What was your broken up score? (i.e. math, CR, writing). 1240 is good for the two parts, though; I believe the average soph transfer SAT is 1240. Then again, having a higher SAT than the average can only help you.

If you really think you’d do better, go for it. As long as you get the scores back before you send in your app, you can send them to UNC.

I was under the impression SATs were for high school students to show how well they would do in college. If you’re in college, it would seem like grades at the college would be much more important as a transfer. I wouldn’t take the test again without asking the college if they will even be looking at them.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing so I went ahead and emailed admissions to ask. I just figured I would likely do a lot better taking it now then I did at the beginning of my senior year and possibly increase my chances but my full score was a 1760 I did terrible on the writing section but apparently they don’t really consider it as much as Critical thinking and Math.
