Retaking SAT at 21?

I didn't try at all on the SAT when I was in high school and ended up getting a mediocre score (1700). My science GPA right now is 3.9.

Most of the engineering schools I am looking at say they need a high SAT score plus high SAT II subject scores to be competitive, the latter which I never even took.

Should I retake it now?

I don't think it would be fair since I've completed Calc I-III, Differential Equations, 2 semesters of calc based physics, 2 semesters of bio and 2 of chem. So the SAT and subject tests obviously wouldn't look as impressive versus some 16 year old kid that did the same.

What should I do? Are my strong grades in college courses enough?

While I haven’t checked Engineering depts specifically, I have yet to see a school that requires Subject tests from transfers. Are you sure you are looking at transfer requirements and not those for fr applicants? Have you called the schools? Can you give links?

If a school actually says that they REQUIRE tests that you don’t have, then no, grades are not enough.
