I noticed that JHU lists 1568 undergrads in the Whiting School but only 336 bachelors degrees awarded. Nationally, many students begin as Engineering and STEM majors but then change because of "weeding out" classes freshman and sophomore years. Can anyone comment on retention among Whiting school students? Do the large number of premed majors affect those who plan to pursue actual Engineering careers?

You might be reading that data wrong. I think its supposed to be there are 1568 in class of 20XX, and 336 are in Whiting.

^it’s the total number of engineering undergrads (freshman, sophomore, junior, senior). The 336 refers to number of graduating seniors.

thanks for the clarification
