reusing essays in transfer applications

Now, I know that many people recycle their essays for a lot of different schools.

But what about sending the same essay that one has already submitted for the freshman application for the transfer application to the same school?

E.g. I got rejected by NYU for freshmam fall term; I hope to transfer in and I'd like to use the same essay.

I don't think NYU keeps its applications after matriculation but there's always the chance that someone who has already read my essay would recognize it if it were presented to him or her again.

I'm not being lazy; I have and will write new essays. But in NYU's case, I don't think I can write a better poem than the one I already submitted for its personal statement short answers.

I don’t think its necessarily a bad thing to reuse essays, but at the same time you may want to look over your essay to better fit the profile of a transfer applicant and not a freshman applicant.

I think one of the things the admission officers may look for in a transfer applicant’s essay is what is different/what has this person learned since high school? But I may be wrong.
