hey! please help me get an idea of where i fall in this huge array of college applicants!
demographics: indian girl, upper-middle-class in california bay area, competitive 90% asian public high school (that weirdly sends like <10 people to ivy leagues despite everyone being super qualified so idk what that’s about)
hooks: no hooks lmao i’m brown
intended major: business administration or economics w/ psych minor
standardized tests:
- 1550 sat with 17 essay
- 1490 psat (not sure if i semifinal-ed)
- 740 biology, i’m going to take sat math 2 and us history soon
uw/w gpa and rank: my school doesn’t weigh any of our honors classes, so only ap classes are weighted :((
- uw/w 4 years: 3.9/4.1
- uc capped uw/w: 3.8/4.1
- no rank
coursework:
- soph year: ap human geo (5), ap bio (5)
- junior year: ap lang, apush, ap psych
- community college calculus 101a
- senior year (projected): ap stats, ap lit, ap gov
awards:
- i joined deca this past year and got at least top 5 at every competition, with two 2nd places in regionals and states, and qualified to icdc (international) but it got canceled because of corona
- championed at like 1-2 speech and debate tournaments
- a couple of gold presidential service awards
- several top 10 dance regional awards
- some girl scout awards
- one regional chess award
ec’s at school:
- event coordinator for culture community at school with many performances and events, 11th-12th
- secretary and founder for another culture club, 10th-12th
- president of dance group at school, 9th-12th
- class council, 10th-12th

- debate, 10th-12th
ec’s outside school:
- danced competitively for like 6 years but quit
- kinda selective summer program for business during summer before 12th
- leadership camp counselor/staff for only a year, but i’m still participating → 400 hours
- secretary of a community organization’s youth internship program
- internship with an elected official summer before 11th
- girl scouts for like 7 years, led several big projects that helped homeless community
essays/lor:
- i’m an okay writer, but i have a really boring life and i’m not SUPER close to my teachers so like 6-7/10 for both
SCHOOLS:
- PLEASE HELP ME WITH SCHOOL SUGGESTIONS including what type of school it is to my profile (safety/ target/ reach)
- i'm going to be applying to most of the uc's so help me understand my chances with those too
- my ultimate reach reach dream dream is upenn wharton but i know that’s not happening LOL
- i like medium/big schools that are not in the middle of nowhere and have at least somewhat of a social setting
