Hey all! Just wondering if anyone knows revisit dates for schools this cycle. Trying to compile my list just in case!
Check your schools’ websites. Some have them listed, some don’t. Some people will not want to contribute to this thread to protect their anonymity. Or maybe that’s just me :^o
Here are the ones that I know about:
St. George’s - email at 7AM EST
Thacher - email at 4PM PST
Lawrenceville - portal at 9AM EST
@GMC2918
Aren’t those the times that decisions are sent out?
I thought OP is asking for the dates of revisits…Or maybe I misunderstood her question…
@Atria you’re absolutely right! Anyway, feel free to add those notification times to your other thread. In terms of revisits, many schools have them noted on their school calendar. It takes a little digging, but I was able to find most of mine that way.
Already done ;

Don’t know how BS does them but all the day schools I applied to last year either included revisits in the acceptance letter/email or followed up the acceptance with either an email or letter that had info about revisits and other events…
I imagine BS would do something similar…
Yes, they do, usually in the letter. It’s a good idea to RSVP for these as soon as you can after you get your acceptance, as they tend to fill up rather quickly.
Andover revisits will be March 24, 27, 31 and April 3. Go Big Blue!
Peddie: 3/30, 4/4, 4/5
George: 3/28, 3/30
Westtown : 3/31

Oops I tried to post more revisit dates in the last post but something happened. Anyway looks like Lawrenceville 3/29. 3/31 4/5
Loomis Chaffee 4/4. 4/7
HOTCHKISS 3/30, 4/1, 4/4
CHOATE 3/28, 4/3, 4/6
GROTON 3/31, 4/5 (EVENING) 4/6
NMH 3/27, 3/31, 4/3, 4/5, 4/7

^ SPS is 4/3-4 and 4/6-7. These are two-day revisits, staring in the early afternoon of Day 1 and ending in the early afternoon of Day 2.
We got into this process very late and are still learning how it works as we await what I now know is called “M10.” I take it that “revisit” is a post-acceptance process that assumes a prior visit? We deferred any visit until we know whether she is admitted. For those who have been through this, are “revisit” days a better chance to get a sense of the school than simply scheduling a visit on a random day in March? Our experience with college Admitted Students Days has been somewhat mixed, and sometimes my kids have felt they got a better idea of the school by visiting on a normal day. OTOH sometimes it’s helpful to have lots of information laid on in official visit days. Thoughts?
I think that either way, revisit days are more valuable than the initial tour/interview format. So whether you can visit on an official revisit day or not, it will still be very helpful in terms of meeting lots of kids/teachers/admins. The official revisit days are fun though - very festive! It’s a great feeling to be admitted and then cheered on by the school. Usually there are organized teacher panels and other events which provide a lot of helpful information. Another bonus is that often kids who have already committed attend revisit days, so your child could meet some future classmates. People generally recommend narrowing your list down to three (if you have multiple acceptances).
Revisit day is when the school turns on the love machine because they admitted your student, now they want to protect their yield. The band or orchestra turns out. They teach you the school song. Everyone gets a t-shirt for coming out and they wow the kids and parents with good food (the spread is usu only good for Revisit and Parents Weekend), and this is when they take you on tour and they show you the biggest and best room in the dorm. They also make faculty available to talk about their signature programs trying to woo you. I don’t know if its necessarily “better” than school visits in the Fall, without the bells and whistles, but it is fun and a chance for the school to show you their best and why you should pick them. They have already calculated how many no’s they will get and all of that is built into their acceptance list. They know you all won’t sign on the dotted line and send in the check, but they are hoping that most of you will. It’s a nice problem to have when too many students say yes to their offer. Then their real fun begins trying to figure out how they will house everyone above their anticipated number.
The reason that I think that revisit days are maybe more informative than interview/tour days, is because you’re able to meet more people - students, teachers, etc. At some schools, after the tour & interview we had met one student (the tour guide) and the AO - that’s it! On revisit days everyone is available to you & wants to answer your questions. My DD came prepared with 3 questions that she asked as many times as she could, at each school. It was very helpful to reflect on the answers coming from a larger “sample size”.
^^True. Although you may get an over-rosy picture of the school. Sometimes, its best just to see the real deal and what the school is like on any average day. It was good that one of my students loved the “average” day at Choate best. Having a coffee in the cool Starbucks look-a-like in the Math Building, and hanging out with friends over laundry in the laundry building or making it to Senior Round Table section at Hill House, finally!
