RI $150 tax on students?

Is anyone really knowledgeable about this… I think it is very outrageous. How far are they into legislation?

It was passed 11-4 according to a recent e-mail from Ruth Simmons.

I almost want to start a group Brown Students for Shopping in Seekonk, MA and offer myself as a free car pool.

This is ridiculous. Pretty much a slap in the face to the Swearer center and everyone else that rides the bus to places like Olneyville to volunteer and make Providence a better place. I wonder what other cities in the US have practices like this…

None.

It was passed in the Rhode Island House Finance Committee 11-4. Before it becomes a law, it has to pass the House, the Senate Finance Committee and the Senate - and the Governor has to sign it. There are many opportunities for this bill to fail.

On the downside, the Mayor Cicilline has every intention to sign the bill if it makes it that far.

Bill h6205 wouldn’t go to the mayor for a signature.

My bad. It doesn’t.
