Would rice forgive modest scores for diversity? I think they do coz they have diversity scholarship?! Am I right?

umm...if you get in, theyll give you scholarships for being minority! (maybe)

and it depends on the scores you make

Test scores aren't important as you may think and I think the Rice Adcom would sacrifice mediocre test scores for a truly unique applicant. A few years ago, the Texas Supreme Court got mad about affirmative action, but since then, Rice's minority enrollment has only gone up. Being a minority does give you a little nudge in the admissions process, but not a huge one.

agreed :) :) :) :)

thnx summer and apollo, but Im not minority. I have a unique life experiences, and I'm originally from a very Under-represented Country! Will that work?

All things that make a candidate an individual are good things, whether they are culture, or experiences, but hopefully you will find a better way to present it to them, than "the crappiest place on earth". Positive is always best. You are obviously going to try to impress the reader with your ability to overcome the circumstances, but try to approach it positively. You sound angry, and that will detract. Just my two cents.

NYCMom: "the crappiest place on earth" isnt the place I was referring to in my previous post. I've traveled a lot and the place I'm living in just sucks. NO opportunities to fulfill ur ambitions...etc. I really agree with you on being positive.

Thank you!

Anything is possible with Affirmative Action!
