I was looking online at the Rice bookstore, and they had just an okay selection of Rice t-shirts, hats, etc. Does the actual bookstore (in the student center) have lots of Rice gear, i.e. more than what they show on their website? Where do Rice students typically get their spirit wear...do local sporting goods stores sell them?

I'm wondering the same thing!

From the Rice bookstore. And yes, they have a bigger selection than what's sold online.

yeah I got some stuff from the bookstore, but you will get so many free t-shirts it's unbelievable.
My Vision host gave me 15 Rice stickers (which go for $4 a pop at the bookstore) because he had gotten so many free ones throughout the year that he didn't know what to do with them, and this kid down the hall never wore anything but free Rice shirts.

this may be a dumb question, but is rice gear as crazy expensive as it is online generally? bookstore stuff is usually i guess

While I was at Rice, I got two free t-shirts. One for a religious organization I'm interested in and the Owl Days one.

You will also get your college gear when you get there. T-shirts and others, sometimes free, sometimes for a price.

I'm a mom, and I have a lot of the Rice (free, and handed down from kids) t-shirts. The bookstore stuff is expensive, but if you attend Rice there are free/extremely cheap shirts for so many activities.

I visited in November and picked up a really nice Rice sweatshirt from the bookstore. Rice's bookstore is run by Barnes & Nobles, and their gear is also sold by B&N. So gear is just as expensive as at other colleges, but very high quality considering that Rice is not that big. There is also a fairly large selection.
