<p>Can anyone give me some insight into the Mechanical Engineering dept. at Rice? What to expect for a first year Freshman, etc.? Any pros and cons, or tips, would also be most helpful. Thanks!</p>

<p>If you follow the suggested curriculum directly, junior is the most difficult because it is loaded with demanding courses. Most people AP out of the first year of calculus and take Math 211/212 their freshman year and then CAAM 335/336 their sophomore year to reduce the junior year course load.</p>
