Rice or Claremont McKenna?

Hey everyone,

So I've narrowed it down to Rice or Claremont McKenna, and I'm having some difficulty making a final decision. I'm planning on studying spanish/hispanic studies while probably dabbling in political science. Any thoughts?

Thanks!

My DD has had several close, close mentors in the Spanish department, and has really enjoyed developing her language skills at Rice. The teaching in that department has been excellent, and she had lots of opportunities to put her skills to use (a translating practicum at the medical center nearby, on a Rice work trip to Nicaragua, tutoring, language tables, etc.)

Political science & gov't are the strengths of CMC. You could take Spanish courses at Pomona, Scripps or Pitzer. But you can't make a wrong choice between Rice & CMC.

thanks! good to hear about rice's spanish dept. it seems like i cant go wrong there. and yes, the two main things that I love about CMC are the amazing international relations program and the location. but, i just talked it over with the rents, and i think rice is the place for me. CMC will always be one of my favorites though...hopefully my friend will end up there and i can go visit.

Congratulations on your decision! You'll love Rice!
