Hey everyone,

So I've narrowed it down to Claremont McKenna or Rice, and I'm having some difficulties making a final decision. I'm planning on studying spanish/hispanic studies while probably dabbling in political science. Any thoughts?

Thanks!

A few things that might be helpful...

Any thoughts on what you'd like in a college? These are both schools with great academics, so feel free to get "superficial" in your response. Just a bit more of an idea of what you're looking for beyond "good school".

Any thoughts on what you think you don't want in a college?

Specific reasons that you really like both schools, reasons you ruled others out, reasons you're torn, etc.

A bit more info might make it easier for people to respond even if they're not too familiar with both of the schools :)

For the record, I finally got sick of subjective comparison, so my guidance counselor came up with a tidy little way to help me make my final choice. There were matrices, multiplication, and numerical scores...very helpful to my analytic mind! It's a bit odd to explain, but feel free to ask if you'd like the details.

thanks for the advice! i guess i wasn't as torn as i thought i was. i just sat down with my parents to weigh my options, and i kept coming back to how much i feel like rice is the place for me. but, again, thanks for being so supportive!

Congrats on your decision...based on what I know, Rice seems like a fantastic place :)

(Have you ever seen The T.W.I.N.K.I.E.S. Project ? Years before my own application cycle, it alone was enough to sell me on the school...)

Wow! This is really cool. I wish my physics class were this interesting!
