Rice University Regular Decision Class of 2025

i applied w/ my scores

where do you see parent info?

yes

Yes, the hurricanes and stuff aren’t fun BUT Rice handles them beautifully. Rice has their own generators and wells so even when there are issues in Houston campus keeps it’s power and water. Off campus kids can come to campus and camp out in their residential colleges (especially when covid is not an issue) if they don’t want to stay in their off campus housing. During the winter storm this year my daughter was really not impacted at all, except for having classes cancelled.

Please dont laught yall
but i didnt pay the application fees haha.
Bad finances so I submitted literally everything one can think of, except application fees.

Automatic rejection?Would they care to.even.open the application?

Good question. I would think your application would not be considered complete until the fees were paid.

Why didn’t you reach out and ask for a waiver or have your counselor write a note.

You probably won’t get a decision - they probably see your app as incomplete.

I received a waiver in my email for completing SAT subject tests even though my family is not financially disadvantaged; I’m sure you would have been able to receive a fee waiver due to your circumstances.

Thankfully Houston is conservative :heart::pray:t2:

Hi there!
Trust me, I sent them several emails and my councellor also wrote to them.
But they informed me they cannot give fee waivers to international students.
To be honest the image I had of rice reallly changed because I couldnt believe that a college liek itself, which got so many more applications so defo more money, couldnt waive a small fee for me.
Well, all am expecting is either no decision or a simple rejection at this point.

Houston has been consistently blue. As a resident of Houston, I can vouch for the majority-left leaning opinions of most people in the city.

Yes—Biden won Harris County with 56%. I’m sure there are conservative suburbs but Rice is in the heart of the city thank goodness.
