Rice vs UVa Echols vs WashU for humanities?

Hi! I am so lucky to have been accepted to these three schools! I’m interested in humanities/social sciences/government, and am not sure which school would be best. Any insight would be appreciated!

Go with Wash U. Although its in the scariest city (St Louis is NO JOKE!) its the highest rated and biggest endowment (which means better chance for a better scholarship).

Which brings me to my question @pianogirl999 whats your scholarships look like at these three schools? Bc thats a big deal!

Really great schools; any one of them will be the right one. That said: What is overall COA for you, given scholarships, etc? Can you do any of these without debt?

Also consider: What kind of industry do you want to enter? Which school has more alumni in that industry? What part of the country do you want to live in? I’m in Atlanta, and a UVA degree carries more weight here because there are so many alumni in prestigious jobs here. In NYC all three of these schools carry weight. In Dallas or Houston, Rice will carry more weight. In Chicago? Probably Rice and Wash U.

WashU is right next to a super upscale town called Clayton. It is not in a bad part of town. The bad part is hours away. Rice and WashU are similar but I would say the students are more outgoing at WashU. Congrats!! You have a nice problem.

My D LOVES WashU. Rice was her 2nd choice. It’s because there was something off at Rice but we couldn’t pinpoint what it was exactly. However she would have gone if she didn’t get accepted to WashU.
