Richmond Admissions Chances

Hi everyone!
I just recently submitted my application for UR (regular decision)
My GPA was 3.6 (unweighted)
Ranked top in my class
Submitted two teacher recs
I submitted my application with a 1390 new SAT score. My essay was pretty strong and so were my extracurriculars. I just wanted to know my chances and if anyone has heard of people with my GPA and SAT score getting accepted. Richmond is one of my top choice schools. I’d also like to know my chances at a Scholars award…please get back to me

Hello!! you seem like a good candidate statistically (I know people higher and lower than your scores), and if you’re essays and recs and extracurriculars are indeed strong, I think you have a good shot at admission. However, the scholars program is extremely competitive, especially this year now that only 25 students will be selected. Don’t be concerned, there are other scholarships available (ones you can be awarded when you’re admitted like presidentials or ones you can apply for after you accept your offer like bonners) and financial aid is wonderful…best of luck!

Thanks for your response and I really hope I get in

I think you have a great chance of getting in! Scholars is very holistic though, so without knowing what you do outside of school and your accomplishments, there is no way to give chances on that.

@guineagirl96 @nikuedu I was just waitlisted… What should I do to continue showing my interest? (My GPA was also 3.7, I typed it in wrong when I originally posted)

sorry to hear that, but it’s not a rejection, so that’s good news! You can send a letter of continued interest if you would like or email your admissions officer any significant recent achievements. If you would definitely attend UR if admitted, telling them that always helps as well (but don’t say it if you don’t mean it).

@guineagirl96 Hahaha, gotta look on the bright side I guess. Thank you for the tips
