Right path?

I applied for transfer admission at Georgetown University. I know it's very hard to be admitted as a transfer student. However, I just received an email about an alumni interview in my area. I'm asked to contact him to set it up. I don't want to be very hoped up, but really wondering if this is a sign that I'm on the right path. I'm thinking that the admission committee is considering my candidacy after first review. Any idea about this?

According to the Gt website, alumni interviews are optional for transfers:

There’s no indication that the the offering of an alumni interview indicates your likelihood of admission in any way.

i got one too and I’m definitely not a top applicant. i think it’s based more on geography rather than qualifications. that’s how interviews usually work, but hey here’s to hoping.
