Hey all, I'm Bart from Poland. I've sorted out a lot of things regarding the applications already, but one thing is still worrying me: how do I show the colleges the rigor of my curriculum? I know that there is a question for the school counselor on the CommonApp School Report which asks about the difficulty of the student's curriculum as compared to other students'. The problem in the Polish schools is that everybody is basically taking the same courses, but the amount of things to learn and the number of subjects (about 17 in the junior class) makes our curriculum much more demanding that those in other countries, including the US. Anyone knows how to deal with it? Maybe another Pole who has already found a way to approach this issue?

There is no need for any special approach. Your application will be read and evaluated by people familiar with Polish education system. Also, your application won’t be compared to American applicants, but to other Polish/Central European candidates. Good luck!

Thank you very much! I know that admission staff at Ivies know the education systems from around the world, but are the adcoms at those less prestigious universities familiar with them as well?

Some colleges and universities may require that you have your transcripts evaluated professionally by an organization such as [World Education Services - International Education Intelligence](http://www.wes.org/)

Thank you happymomof1 and katliamom! I assume that if a college requires professional evaluation from the organization you mentioned, it will be stated on its website?

That would be a nasty surprise. Kinda like not mentioning that SAT scores are required for admission until 2 weeks before the application deadline.
