Rigorous senior year schedule?

I have already discussed specific classes in other posts, but I wanted to confirm my final schedule plan for senior year. I just wanted to ask if my schedule seems rigorous enough for elite college admissions. To put that in perspective my school offers about 25 AP classes, but several are new next year or usually don’t get enough kids signed up to run.

Prospective major: economics or political science

Senior year Tenative
AP lit
AP Spanish language and culture
AP calc AB
AP physics 1
AP gov and politics
Health
Band
College advanced science research (economics/political science project)

4 AP classes Junior year (6 total exams with self study for macro/micro)
1 AP sophomore year and 0 freshman year (maximum allowed).

There are usually only a handful of students who take 6 APs senior year, and besides the slot for band and college advanced research I seem have to maxed out my APs previous school years.

My only concern in terms of rigor and college success is not taking AP Calc BC. The track for my school is students take precalc junior year and choose to either take BC or AB senior year (BC has a extra lab period)I wanted to take AB becuase I’m already taking a challenging science AP (I haven’t taken honors physics yet) and I don’t think I would need BC for my prospective major. However, considering a handful of elite students in my school take BC, and that I would have a lunch/off period if I took AB for the first time since freshman year, I am worried that this would be a red flag for elite collleges.

To be honest, I am fairly certain with the advice I’ve gotten on this forum that my schedule is perfectly fine, but I just wanted some confidence before I submit my final schedule request. I really appreciate the help this community has given me. Thanks in advance.

AB is perfectly fine along with AP Physics 1. Your schedule looks perfectly fine in my opinion.

5 APs is a lot and honestly how are your stress levels? I don’t think colleges check senior year that closely

Consider this when you are deciding how many APs to take Senior year.

In the fall, you are in college application season. You may be taking the SAT again. You may want to visit some more colleges. You have to write college- specific essays (hopefully you already wrote your common app essay over the summer.). You have to fill out your Common App and get recommendations.
Also you may be in marching band or Sports or be a leader of a club. College Apps is like another timesucking EC on top of that.

Then in the spring, you may have senioritis. You are been accepted to college and are looking toward the finish line. You have to study for the AP tests…it will be difficult to study for too many at once.

so you want to be rigorous, but not over do it.

If I were to drop to Honors physics instead (to put that in context for physics my school does not have a regular course, so calling it honors is questionable), would it significantly impact my schedule rigor?
