I got rejected from RISD xD thanks you guys for your nice comments! It was really really disappointing, but I guess it just wasn’t meant to be. I have other back ups so I’ll be fine. Y’all still have a chance! Good luck!

Have there been any financial aid awards for any members of the class of 2018? I ask, because I have heard that it is difficult to get aid as a freshman. A colleague of mine, who has a nephew at RISD claims that the college prefers to award in the sophomore year because a large minority of freshman are not retained as sophomores. To this premise, I haven’t seen any accepted students note any financial aid awards. Is my colleague correct? Have any freshman rec’d an award with their admissions decision?

***Comments:
99.99999999999999% certain I will not attend RISD since I am 99.99999999999999% certain I will not be accepted into the Brown-RISD dual program.

Also, if the other girl at my school who got accepted today decides to go to RISD, I am 100.00% certain I will not go. Because reasons. Important reasons.

Either way, I am happy I can potentially open a spot to someone who has been waitlisted. Good luck! <3

haven’t receive any notification yet it’s a long wait

Hi, everyone.
I got accepted to RISD architecture program. Really it was surprise for me because I was thinking that to get to RISD is harder than to Pratt. (I am in wait list in Pratt -__- ). By the way I am international student.
I did not apply for dual program because was worry that I Brown wouldn’t accept me.
Here some statistics;
SAT 1550 (it’s low…but I was preparing just one month and took it once)
IELTS 6,5, TOEFL 99(I didn’t sent TOEFL). Now I have IELTS 7.0( I didn’t sent this result also)
GPA 4.0 ( we have different system but I think I have 4 in usa system)
Class rank top 10
I think the most important part is portfolio and your risd bike :))
Good luck everyone with your decisions =)
I am still waiting answer from SAIC, Cooper Union, Cornell. I also applied to FIT, but didn’t sent them WES transcript…

I was accepted!
SAT: 2180
ACT: 33
Class Rank: Top 10%
GPA: 3.92

Here was my portfolio I turned in: <a href=“Dropbox - Error - Simplify your life”>Dropbox - Error - Simplify your life;

My bike drawing was decent, my other drawing was absolutely terrible!

I was accepted and received my package in the mail but I didn’t get an email. Isn’t it the other way around? Like getting the email first and then the package? RISD wasn’t the only school who sent me the acceptance package but didn’t send me an email. I know it isn’t a problem with my email because they had sent me previous emails before. Does anybody have any idea what the issue may be?

@brenita Please please please could you send me a few examples from your portfolio, or describe them at least. I am applying to RISD this year so do you have any tips for me when to comes to the portfolio as I have applied for architecture as well. Please! I really need help when it comes to this. Also my SAT is 1650. And my SAT 2 math is 650.
