My son just got waitlisted for RISD, which was his first choice :( He got accepted to Pratt, Syracuse and Cleveland Inst.of Art. He applied to them because he thinks he wants ID but may also want illustration. He got money from Pratt and CIA and a little from Syr. Does anyone know the ID rankings from 2009 Design Intelligence or does anyone have first hand info about these schools? I went to Syracuse for art but that was eons ago so I can't compare it now.

For ID in 2009, Pratt was ranked 1st.

According to the link below, the top 3 undergraduate ID programs in DI’s 2009 rankings were:
- Art Center College
- Carnegie-Mellon
- University of Cincinnati

[2009 Design Rankings Just Out: UC Recognized forPrized Programs](http://www.uc.edu/News/NR.aspx?ID=9350)

Oh, I just realized that you were probably referring to INTERIOR design, rather than INDUSTRIAL design, when you said ID.

If you meant interior design, then Pratt was tied for #2 (with University of Cincinnati) on the ID rankings – behind Kansas State (#1) and ahead of Cornell (#3).

Sorry, I was referring to Industrial Design.
