My niece recently graduated from RISD (she’s originally from Colorado) - she had a wonderful experience. She was academically challenged and the art education is the very best. (she’s graphic arts/English) The campus is shared with Brown, so there is some diversity with regard to academic interests, etc. I found the vibe on campus to be very “happy but serious.”

Thanks coquimom!

As of now, I have been accepted to both RIT and SVA! Still waiting to here from RISD and VCU, and I’ve decided to not apply to Columbia after all, as I don’t think I’d choose to go there even if accepted. Out of all the schools listed in this thread, I’ve decided that I’d probably like to go to RIT or SVA. If anyone that knows anything about these two schools could help me out by giving me any more info you have, I would very much appreciate it! I likely wont be attending VCU, it’s just that it’s much closer to home, and I have a ton of friends going there. I still don’t want to rule out RISD though, so if anyone has any compelling info on RISD, please do share!

Thanks again!

Well now the waiting is over. I’ve been accepted to all the schools I applied to (RISD, RIT, VCU, SVA). However, I still have no clue where I want to go. I probably wont be attending VCU. It is merely a backup school. I would still love anymore information anyone has that could sway my decision towards either RISD, RIT, or SVA.

Thanks

you might have gotten in Columbia(Ivy) if only tried, haha
