Rising Senior- College Question

Ok, well as the title says I am a rising Senior, and I am somewhat concerned with college admissions. For a while, I was just going to attend a state university and then hopefully go the the our state med center (I want to go into medicine/become a doctor.) Anyway, I have kind of gotten past the financial burden that a more "exclusive" university comes with and am considering applying to Rice and Duke. If someone could glance over my stats and tell me if it would be worth my time to apply to these schools I would really appreciate it!

So ya, thts about it. Do I stand any chance of getting into Duke or Rice with those stats. Also, if I should by some chance get into one of them, is it worth sacrificing the full ride I could get from a state school. My ultimate goal in this is to become a doctor, if that makes any difference. My family is not wealthy by any means and my parents still need to get 3 more kids through college, and I REALLY don't want them to pay for me going to a more expensive school.

THANKS For the time!
Robbie

Your ECs show a lot of personality, and combined with good scores, I think you stand a good chance at both Duke and Rice. Rice offers merit scholarships, although I don't know how competitive they are. Both may offer you financial aid. However, without sufficient financial aid, I wouldn't recommend choosing one of those schools over a well-priced public. Your parents will need that money, and you will certainly appreciate any leftovers for med school!

Personally, I would keep the SAT score because it is high. You have a good chance regardless. What state do you live in?
