How would you describe the overall student culture at Lehigh? I plan on majoring in MTSE (Materials Science and Engineering), what do you know about their STEM courses?
How is the financial aid for international students in Lehigh? should I consider applying with an EFC of $10,000?
@graacewhite Culture was my number 1 factor when deciding which school I wanted to attend.
Things that I like about Lehigh:
It is not a cut-throat culture like other competitive schools, little reliance on bell curve grading.
Most students come from out of state. This results in people being more open and willing to make friends in my opinion.
It is not a bar school, nor is it a commuter school.
Lehigh has an amazing engineering department. While I am not an engineering student, I solely know how well regarded Lehigh is as an engineering school. The STEM building is also one of the nicest on campus.

I do not know the specific qualifications for international financial aid. I do know that it is likely worth trying to apply. Lehigh can give international students great financial aid. You can attempt to contact Lehigh directly about this, as they could provide you with a better answer.
@maria0011 Lehigh is more than 100 miles from the Bronx…
Hii, I am a high school senior considering applying to Lehigh as one of my top priorities. Just wanted to know a bit more:
- How is the Cognitive Science major at Lehigh?
- How easy is it to connect with your professors and how does it help?
- I am an international student from India and have big financial constraints. So, how generous is Lehigh in terms of financial aid to international students?
- Is the location of Lehigh a big concern? How are the safety and the culture of the city?
- Is this really only a party school. Being an international student, I just want a community to mix up and share our cultures. But I don’t think I’ll be very much interested in partying. Does that make me a mismatch for the college?
It would be great if someone could clear my queries.
