Robertson Scholarship

Actually, I'm only nominated for the UNC Chapel Hill side! In my excitement I posted here and didn't read the fine print! Oh well, I'm still very happy and I love Carolina, as well as Duke! Good luck to all!!!

Semifinalist! I'm excited :)

Congrats everyone

AHHHHH I JUST GOT AN EMAIL NOW!!!! I was one out 150 semi-finalists!!!!

jegan why do you always feel the need to mention Yale in other college forums when people get news

Geez, sorry, Mallomar. Didn't realize I was offending you. I was trying to make light of what was, for me, a somewhat disappointing situation. I'll edit it out for your benefit since it seems to annoy you.

Where is the Robertson weekend held? Do the separate the Duke and UNC kids to different locations? Just curious.

Well considering UNC and Duke are but a 15 minute Robertson Bus ride apart...does it matter which campus it is? :)

I got an email that I am a semifinalist for Robertson Scholar!!!! I didn't apply though either...I thought that I was out of the running because I didn't send in my supplemental form by December 1. This is a COMPLETE surprise, I didn't even think I was going to get into Duke.

If anybody wants to see the email/know my 'stats,' I'll post them next but I don't want to...clutter things if nobody is really curious.

I got the email that I am a semifinalist! I also didn't apply, so I was REALLY surprised. I got a likely letter last week, as well!

j07, would you please post your stat? Thanks.

Schoolfinder, most of the time you can click on someone's username and look at their past posts to find their stats.

Haha yeah MallomarCookie you can do that but I don't want to make poor schoolfinder search through 1000+ posts for my age-old "what are my chances?!?" threads.

I was soooo surprised by this email. I honestly thought that even if I had applied for Robertson they would never consider someone like me. I'm so happy! I wish the best to all of you and to all the other semi-finalists and I hope that EVERYONE on this forum will end up at Duke together in the fall.

are there any current Robertson scholars out there?

woohoo just received email for finalist

me too.
see you in north carolina!

vegangirl, congrats!

I didn't get selected as a finalist, but I'm surprisingly not really upset at all. Sort of because I would have had to miss prom if I went to the finalist weekend (I know, I know, how lame/shallow am I...). And sort of because...I got into Duke, and that's awesome and surprising, and I'm excited about that regardless of money.

Also, I didn't actually apply for the Robertson Scholarship...I mean I didn't fill out the application or anything, so I guess it kind of makes sense that I wasn't selected (excluding my stats probably not stacking up with other Robertson-ers).

I wasn't selected either, but I'm pretty disappointed...

I didn't get selected either.. but who cares! i didnt even KNOW what it was until i got that email anyway! i'm just stoked to be in Duke!!! Plus, it's pretty cut throat anyway and i wouldnt have liked to spend 4 days doing such heavy interviewing... I'm gonna go to the BSA invitation thing at the end of the months and spend 4 days meeting kids and going to classes intsead! THAT'S what i call a good time :)
Plus yeah, money isnt really an issue for me either!!! so apart from knowing i'm gonna have to plan out my own summers every year instead of getting whisked away to different places.. i cant say i'm too upset
