Something to also remember is that they don’t request your application to the schools unless you are a top-scorer on the supplemental application, so if you don’t show something in your supplemental because you’re afraid to repeat yourself then you may never get to the next level.

Wait, so you mean that in the supplemental part it is ok to repeat some leadership based things?

Yes, because otherwise they might not know about it. The Supplemental is a way to highlight all of your best accomplishments, so don’t be afraid to repeat things.

Ok, I guess i’ll understand more when I actually see the form.

One final question, if there are 18 Robertson Scholars in each school, do you have to apply to the scholarship with each school? Or do you get accepted to each school and the scholarship program and decide which school to attend?

You can apply for both and your application goes to two separate committees. The UNC committee could make you a semi finalist or the Duke could or both. It is entirely separate. If you do end up to be a finalist for both than you decide at the end I think.

oh ok, yeah I was wondering how they would keep it so even if you just got accepted to the program.

This may sound silly but when you graduate which school do you graduate from?

You graduate from the school you were accepted to. You only spend one semester in residence at the other school but can take a given number of classes at either the rest of the time.

BTW, any UNC student can take classes at Duke if the class isn’t offered at UNC and it works the same way for Duke students taking classes at UNC as well. The Robertson shuttle bus runs back and forth between the two schools daily.

Hey guys! I am an OOS finalist for the Robertson Scholarship. The school is flying all 80 of us down next weekend for a campus visit/intensive interviews. They’re going to tell us if we’ve been selected two days after the trip! I would be happy to record the details for future applicants when I get back. :)

Awsome, please do. I hope to apply for it next year.
