Is is wise to hold off on sending in my application until my first semester grades are done? They are done January 27th. Now, my worry is that it would be late and a lot of spots would be filled up. I actually need my senior grades to be considered. Let's just say I have not applied myself. Also, would applying later hinder my chances for financial aid?

The earlier apply, the better the chance of getting in and the more money you’ll get - at least for most rolling admissions programs.

I’d recommend sending in your application early (i.e. shortly after they begin accepting them) and then sending in your first semester grades once they become available.

Now, can I appeal if I get rejected if I apply early and I think my Senior grades so dramatic improvements from previous years?

If your senior grades are going to bring up your GPA considerably, it’s better to wait. You’ll probably be able to tell partway through your senior year whether they’re going to alter your GPA significantly.

If, after starting your senior year, you think your grades are going to help you a lot, wait for them.

If your GPA is strong already, though, you shouldn’t need to wait months for your senior grades.
