Anyone with info on Rollins College? What is the opinion of campus life since it is a small school? Diversity? Quality of education? I have seen posts about it being a country club setting and most of students are from wealty families, that being said, is that necessarily a bad thing? I know some very wealthy people and you'd never know it to look at them. Just curious about the academic and social atmosphere there. Thanks

If you have high financial need, it is a bad bet!
The FA package we received from Rollins resulted in it being taken off the table.
There might be some other students/parents on CC who have had a different experience in applying for FA @ Rollins.

Hi there Ibjjbl, I have little bit experience about Rollins. I am an international student but can help you. One of my friend’s brother was selected for the Cornell Scholarship at Rollins. They give full ride to those who win that thing. I guess it is meant for internationals only. In case of US residents, as SLUMOM said, the aid is not that good.And, yes, what you have heard about rollins is actually true. It is a place where very rich people go. And their academics isn’t that effective either. Though it is ranked number one amongst the regional universities of South, it does not have that impressive academics. Once google ‘return of investment’. Rollins is amongst those colleges which won’t let you earn money(their placement is NOT good!). The official report from payscale.com says that you won’t be able to earn your investment* of four years at Rollins even after working for 20 years! How does that sound? Awful, isn’t it?

Investment = (Full tuition+Room+Board+Everything)-(Aid)

Rollins charges so much that you will be struggling to earn back your investment for more than 20 years!
