Room Assignments!! (Kind of)

BTW, I’m pretty sure TC-A-### means: transfer community-A building-room number

As far as I remember, last year my assignment was RH-B-415, meaning residence hall-B building-room 415

Rectangle shorts are you in porter?
I am going to be in building B and I am really hoping I am on a Co-ed floor.
I will most likely get that right? Because that is what I requested.
I am just paranoid haha.

Hey guys…i got Tc-a-620, Co-ed Academic Intensive, but i dont see anything about substance-free or any other descriptions…and how u guys know if u got the double or triple??

Whocaresman: Sup, I’m just a few doors down I think (TC-a-607). I think our whole floor is Academic Intensive. Here are the other floors as far as I can tell:
2 - women only
3 - outdoor experience
5 - substance free

I assume I have a double because I got emailed about a single roommate.

im not sure how I feel about being on the 5th floor…

I got House 01, Room 219. This room is a Double and it is part of the Sub-Free/ Study Intensive House. Does that mean it’s not Co-ed because it didn’t say anything about being Co-ed.

Tc-a-156

Co-ed 21 and over.

No idea if it is a single/double

Has anyone heard from their roommates yet?

@sofaraway

Yeah, I’m at Porter
Chances are you will be in a coed hall. There was only one single-gender hall last year in the B building, and it was my hall. I THINK it’s the same hall again, so if your room number is anywhere from 400-425 or so, you’re probably in the women’s hall. I ended up in the women’s hall and specifically requested not the be there, but it turned out to be fine. I wouldn’t stress too much over it.

The buildings at Porter (including the A building Transfer Community) are composed of 3 halls per floor (north, center, and south), so no matter which “theme” you got, it’s not going to be the whole floor that has that theme, just your hall. If you don’t like the people in your hall, you can always just go down the hall a little bit and make friends in a different hall while still staying on the same floor. In all honesty though, the themes don’t really matter much unless you are in a single-gender hall.
The north side of the buildings are the “lower” room numbers, like 415, 607, 312, 520
The south side of the buildings are the “higher” room numbers, like 660, 356, 157, etc.
Everything else is the center part of the building.

ok thanks for the info
so how many floors are there in one building?
Im guessing most of the freshman are in the B building…

No problem
There are 6 floors, but it’s pretty rare that anyone lives on the 1st floor. Most of the entrances to the building are on the second floor.

I’m pretty sure most freshman are going to be living in the B-building. When I signed up for a room at the end of the last school year, rooms in the A-building weren’t even available to us, so it’ll probably be just like last year where all of Porter was housed in the B-building and the apartments. I’m sure there are Porter transfers in the A-building, but for the most part, it’s going to be transfers from other colleges, thus the Transfer Community.

I got TC-a-130, Co-Ed.

Kay so all I know is that I got a small triple room in Rutherford at Crown. But I know people who have already been alerted of who their roommates are, and stuff like that. Is Crown just laggin’, or am I missing something?

I didn’t get anything and I’m in Harvey at Crown

I was in College 10 building 6 floor 1 last year and I shared a wall with the CSO (Campus security officer). Let me tell you, that sucked cause any noise after 10pm they would come by and write us up. But other than that, the floor was great! Made friends with everyone, and everyone on the floor did stuff together.
