Did i miss the letter? It is three days before school starts and I haven't reveived a letter about who my roommate is. Do you guys have them or did I miss it? I personnally think its odd they wouldn't tell you before hand but if not I'm sure there is a reason.

S filled out a roommate compatibility questionnaire this summer. Got to school with no word about roommate or dorm (though they told us not to ask about that stuff) and he and all the first year boys had singles.

But now they know to keep a close eye on his room when they inspect the rooms...because he was honest about his housekeeping habits on the questionnaire.

my son's school specifically says that they will not tell you whether you have a single or double - you find out when you arrive.

my other two kids knew before they went, but different schools handle it differently.

hockeykid, I think you are going to St. Paul's... You or your parents should have recieved a login for a part of the sps website. Once you login if you click around a bit you see your telephone number and if you have a single or double, and if a double who your roommate is. As I'm thinking about it I'm pretty sure it's through https://www.sps.edu/podium/default.aspx?t=00000, which you parents should have a username/password for.

Dangg, wish I had known that a while ago. Oh well, thanks psued

NMH did not notify either of my two sons who their roommates were in advance. My eldest requested a specific dorm and an international roommate; both of his requests were granted. My youngest was automatically put into a specific dorm (as there is now Freshman-only housing), and he filled out the basic profile (messy/neat, type of music, etc.)

As I remember, my D's school did not tell the Freshmen and new Sophomores who their roommates were until they arrived except for special circumstances (siblings, etc.). Now all the returning students spent the last month chatting about how they were rearranging which dorm had whom it it. Talk about drama!

You want a drama mama scene regarding roommates? hazmat called my attention to this doozy:

But this one is the real deal drama:

It is amazing how parents can turn loose such kids on a university. I imagine the apple didn't fall far from the tree.

With the second one, that is just sad.
